    The rules Bella follows

    Bella follows your rules

    Bella starts by reading the rules already configured in your accounting system, then adds the more detailed rules you give her, either as written instructions or in documents. She also learns from past transactions in your books.

    Rules from the vendor card, plus the detailed rules you give her
    Bella reads the rules entered on the vendor card and combines them with historical data. She selects the date, reference, description, account, VAT treatment, departments, projects, subjects, cost centres, and more. Bella can split complex invoices into multiple posting lines as needed, and she supports more detailed rules than the standard vendor card in your accounting system.

    Your due-date rules
    You can add your own due-date rules, which the AI uses to calculate the due date from the invoice date. Write down the rule your company applies for a given vendor and add it to Bella's rule book. It works much like briefing a new junior bookkeeper, except your assistant is on the web.

    Documents with detailed information
    You can add documents containing the information you would normally explain to a new bookkeeper. That might include department structure, equipment lists, company cars and phone numbers by employee or department, and guidance on cost centres and who belongs to each. The AI uses all of this when it processes invoices.

    She combines supporting documents that belong to an invoice and uses them in the analysis. If a supporting document is missing, she can hold the invoice until it arrives. This happens automatically before you sit down with your first coffee of the day.

    Reads every line and suggests a posting

    Bella reads every line on the invoice and suggests a posting. Each suggestion gets a confidence score based on a checklist. The more information Bella receives from the bookkeeper, the better she gets over time.

    Splits complex invoices

    Bella can break each line down individually and build complex posting suggestions, for example when an invoice covers multiple people, projects, departments, or costs with different VAT treatment or usage. She splits everything correctly.
